I know there are hundreds of threads about this, but I can't find any by searching. What is the easiest method of putting the skid back in and getting all 6 bolts lined up? Is there a better order that works?

Front, middle rear for me.
I had it suspended from a rafter, laid two snow brushes across the track for the skid to slide on and with the rear axle out I slid the skid in, bolted the front and center in loosely, reinstalled the rear axle and idlers, dropped the skid down to the holes and bolted it in.
Raise or lower sled accordingly.
Make sure the adjusters are backed all the way off.
This is just one way to get it done, but it went smoothly and I didnt kick one thing around the shop. ;)!

Yup. I take out the control rod bolts which helps get the front and middle in and then put them back in before dropping the rear down. I just did this after completely rebuilding it. I could not get the rear to line up, then I put the rod bolts back in and it pulled it inline perfectly.

I ended up with 2 of us and 2 youngsters (10 and 4) to help by putting the front in first, then the middle, and couldn't for the life of us get the rear holes lined up. I finally had remembered seeing a thread about putting a ratchet strap around the rails and up around the shock bracket. Did that and with a good shove, I got the rear holes lined up. Just one quick question about the transfer rods. On mine, the 2 washers on the bottoms are not the same size. One is about 1/2 the size of the one on the other side. Is this okay? It seems to ride fine.

the sled probably didnt launch straight so a previous owner adjusted to get a straight launch. it's more of a concern for drag racing where you want the sled to run straight under load without having to lean and steer with the skis

spacers should be equal side to side. if your talking about the steel washer that is on the bolt, it should be just a little smaller than the spacer.

I know several guys on here jack the rear up in the air and install the skid that way. I found this be a pita as I was wrestling with the skid to try and line up the bolt holes. Lots of swearing, beer, swearing, beer.

I find that laying the sled on it's side was the quickest way. Much easier to line up the lines.
