Viper dead battery question?
I went for my first ride of the season last night. My battery was dead so I just started the machine manually. The engine seemed to run normal but would not rev past 7200 rpm. Could this be related to a dead battery? My carbs are clean and so are the power valves. Either way I am going to put a new battery in it but won't get to that for a few days so I'm just trying to narrow things down. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

it shouldnt do anyhting to top rpm, but it will make the gauge flash on and off at slower speeds on a er viper. Are the powervalves set right?
I just cleaned and set the power valves last weekend. To the best of my knowledge everything should be good there. I hate taking the pipes on and off so I made sure to double check my work. I did have the guage and lighting issues. I was hoping maybe the servo was also effected. I am guessing the primary would be the first place to investigate? I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Same problem with mine. Battery dead. Took it out to charge but only dims the lights when brakes and reverse is engaged. Should run wot throttle without a problem. batt has no affect why no more rpm.
Thanks for the replies. I picked up a new battery last night. I was really hoping that would have solved things. Looks like I am going to have to dig a little deeper. Great way to start the year! All the best to everyone in the new year. Cheers!
