I need to adjust or verify that my powervalves are set properly, so I have been doing alot of research on the topic. There is lots of good info/pictures, thank you. I didnt see anyone bring up the topic of lubing them.
I ride track and trails with my dirtbikes 3 seasons/year, usually putting 3-400 miles on them/year. I generally get 3yrs from the clutch and 4yrs from the throttle cable. I know this enviroment has waay more abrasives in it. I have noticed about 30% reduction in lever pull with a cleaned and lubed cable, and about 20% reduction when I lube a new one (clutch) and it doubled their life. I use lube just for cables, thin and slipery.
Is this something that can be used on the PV cables? It is thin like WD40, it just lasts longer. Do you guys think that it would make the valves stick in the cold weather? It says it protects below zero. Maybe it would help the cables not wear as fast?
Im not pushing this stuff, but I know it works well on my other toys.

so it just says good for below 0? what about -20? might make it harder for the cables to slide the colder it gets. But im sure it would be fine around the 0 mark..it does say for snowmobiles, so I would think they probably took it into consideration, but ya never know

Yeah, im not sure. Since the cables run over the exhaust, and most sleds get a warmup before use, i'm not sure how cold they are in actual use. I wanted to see what you fellas thought.

Any chance you have access to a -20 freezer? Proof is in the pudding....or in that it doesnt stiffin up like pudding!

There is plastic sleeve in the bend and that lube will help.

what about using fluid film? I use this stuff on a lot of the equipment I have and it works great, just not sure about cables.

Love fluid film. But I think it would be to thick to go down inside the cable properly.

that's what I was thinking too, hows those tuner dual runners workin out for ya? im thinking about getting a pair.

Love the fact that their wider. I ride the river allot and with all the snow its helps. Also no more snow packing between carbides. I had deuce bars before. Veryf good until you get the kind of sticky snow and it packs.
