This is more of a Viper and SRX question, so ill post this here. I have an 02 Viper and I'm looking for lower radius rods. I've found a complete set (upper and lowers, brand new, no ends) from an SRX for a good price and I'm wondering if they'll fit my Viper.

I have read the other thread, I could get you all the measurements for the SRX's you already have. Dont have any access to a viper. Maybe go to a aftermarket parts supplier (dennis kirk/kimpex/marshall) Maybe find the listing for viper parts with dimensional specs?
 
I own a Viper. I'm looking for measurement from an SRX just to compare to what I've measured. Thickness and length. Could you measure your rods on your SRX and me me know what you come up with? Some has to know the answer to this...
 
Ottawaair is right, viper rods are longer. I put some on my srx so I wouldn't narrow my stance too much when I put longer shocks on. Viperking, JDviper and I think Betheviper are wrecking vipers, they should have a set for you. Pm them and see. Just remember that mountain vipers have shorter ones because of the narrower stance so you don't want those.
 
Thanks for the info guys. I pulled the upper off my Viper and it measures at 17 3/4 inches long, about a half inch longer than the lower arm. Is it correct that the SRX and Viper share the exact same lower arm? Obviously the upper is longer...are both the upper and lower arms longer on the Viper?
 
Measured them on a 01 srx. Bottom is 13/16-7/8 dia 17 1/8ish. Top is 3/4 dia and 17 1/2 long. Length measures are from end of tube (excluding heim joint) to longest point on other end,cross tube with bushing at a 15-20 degree angle. If Betheviper(other thread) says bottoms will work but tops wont I tend to beleive that.

He said SXR lower rod will work but it's slightly different not SRX
 
Your saying the SRX lower won't work? It looks like the lowers appear to be the same width and length, so I assume those are interchangeable. The uppers seem to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer on the Viper. What is it that's different on the lower arms between the two? I can't get an exact measurement on my Viper lower arm because it's bent.
 
viper upper rode is different in a few ways that make it not work. lower is similar and will work.
all rods from ventures, xt, xtc, sxr are the same lengh

I'm just clarifying what betheviper said in the other thread. I can check viper vs srx rods tomorrow for you but I put SXR rods on my SRX when I longtraveled it and they were longer than the srx rods. so if SXR are the same as Viper per betheviper's post than they are not the same as SRX. but I will check for you tomorrow to be sure.

Devil, I did see that post..."all rods from ventures, xt, xtc, sxr are the same length"...but does that include Viper as well? So "all rods from ventures, xt, xtc, sxr and Vipers are the same length"???

General theme on both threads is that they wont work. For all I know some one may have put viper/xtc/venture/sxr lower radious rods on this SRX to long travel it :dunno: Measured 1 of 4 I have as it was the easiest to get to/lay under with a flashlight to measure. Thats why I originally suggested finding info on a site selling them. I can check the others tomorrow.

What I took from that is that going from Sxr to viper lowers are similar and will work, SxR,xt,xtc(all the exact same) and vipers (interchange but not exact same) are all the longer travel sleds from the factory. That viper uppers are different and dont interchange with anything. SRX and SX models are the shorter travel sleds that interchange with each other, when long traveling SRX/SX we use SxR,xt,xtc,venture radious rods/trailing arms. I know a viper trailing arm will fit any of my SRX to long travel but the rods :dunno:

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like I'm on the hunt for Viper rods or just find SXR lowers...still not sure what the difference is between SXR vs Viper lowers, even though they'll supposedly work on the Viper.
