How much rumbling have you guys experience from a new track? It's been a few years since I've had a new track and forgot how much rumbling a new one would do I just don't know if the new 1" carve I put on my 01 SRX is doing it because it was wrapped up too long on a shelf or what.I replaced every bearing in the skid, new drive axle bearing and all 3 in the chaincase, this noise almost has to be the new track.
At first I thought the snow flap was stuck up under the tunnel but it wasn't and it persisted all afternoon, not ice buildup either.Hoping it goes away once I get some miles on this thing.

Did you clip the track for gaurds?
Did you check thr drivers to seeif they were lined up with the trck correctly?

Did not clip it but that did run through my mind.Wasn't really thinking that a 1" lug would rub but I will be checking these things tomorrow. Thanks Scott.
One thing I just thought of too was that I had a machinist friend of mine fix my drive axle where the bearing rides and he flipped 3 of the 4 cogs around so that the wear spot was on the opposite side.He forgot the flip the fourth cog ,one of the inners, and I intended to do it at work but couldn't get the axle to fit in the press we have. All the cogs were marked so they were pressed back on in the same spot but I will double check to make sure one isn't out of alignment.
so your saying three are running on the new surface and one is running against the old? thats not going to help track tension issues.
Not sure if you noticed this but the drivers have an arrow that needs to be lined up with all the other ones, if you have one off, then it could be off. 6 flats and 9 teeth, if you had one off one flat, that could be your issue. your going to have to check that tonight or you wont sleep well

I did notice the arrows before and they all line up plus I figured I could yank everything apart some night this week and get my bud to take the shaft to work with him and flip the last cog.I know it's a pain to tear everything apart after it's all back together but it will take that one issue out of the possible cause of the rumble.
as long as the arrows are lined up, i dont think this would cause a rumble. It might cause a track tension issue under load as three will be touching and one not but not a rumble.
another thing, did you taper down the tips of you slides at the back or cut them off square?
track studded, if you have a loose stud and it is lined up with a drivers, it can make a noise.
make sure your track isn't hitting the top of the rear shock.

I had a vibration in my sx700 that was driving me nuts, I could feel it in the floor boards. It ended up being a flat spot on the drive belt. Try changing your belt, it's easy and worth checking.
Sliders are tapered,no studs yet and I will have to check on the track hitting the shock possability.I never thought about the belt because of the new track but I will try another one to see if it goes away.
