my 700sx was running great, riding on trails at 20-60mph, suddenly started making a light clicking noise then soon after lost the mag side cylinder, didnt sieze up but sounds bad. Had to ride slowly 1/2 mile to home. Found metal stuck in mag side plug, suspect a jet must have plugged up and took out piston, hope I can salvage cyl and get out of it with a new piston and clean carbs and cyl. I pray the crank is ok............. Will teardown tomorrow. Where is the block drain on these??(for anti freeze)

What year 700sx do you have? 1997's are known to have a weak crank bearing on the mag side. Bearing lets go and the cylinder sucks it up.
Had to rebuild mine after that happened. If it is the bearing that let go you can easily do the '98 single bearing update on it that is better than the two bearings that the 97 uses.

Well its not looking good, found a hole in the case the size of a dime just below the ex port.... Crank or rod bearing must have let go.

Anyone have a good bottom end they would part with??
