Hi guys purchased a 98 srx couple months ago and looking for a good trail and topend clutch setup.I purchased a bender clutch kit but from the posts on here it looks as if i could do better.I also have a 53/48 helix kicking around with a yellow spring not sure who spring or the rate.its in a spare secondary i purchased.I also have a set of heelclickers 40-10with red spring.anyone have any suggestion for this setup,or should i just buy new weights and springs of the newer year srxs.I find with the bender i am overreving,it the 47/41 helix with the orange bender spring with 8 mm shim and 14.5 rollers stock secondary spring with 80 twist.any help would be appreciated guys.

try just putting the other helix in, the more agressive shift will bring rpms down......if rpms are still too high take the shim out

ok guys set belt deflection on secondary with 53/48 helix and yellow spring set at 80 degrees, sled seems to be pulling much harder and dont overrev as easy.it goes to 8000 rpm and starts pulling hitting 100 miles an hour at about 8350-8400.this is with loaded 8dns and bender orange primary spring with 8 mm shim.this testing was done on short road.trails dosent seem like such good setup, maybe this would be better if i used loaded 8dn 20s and www primary spring, also would you guys suggest a di?fferent secondary spring?

Wish I could be more help but clutching is not something I've ever tinkered with. I run a stage 3 Hauck kit that I put in the when I bought my sled back in 97. Always done very well on the lakes with it, trail also. Maintenance is key on clutching, my friends ride an 02 SRX and an 06 Apex and we're always racing each other to see what works and what doesn't. When someone starts losing, we start digging to see why. 80% of time its worn clutching, bushings, springs, etc. My sled likes to go thru secondary bushings every 2-3 k. Throw new bushings in and instant 3-4 sled lengths better in our racing. Don't now how many miles yours has but that's where I always start.
