the foam air filter has gone to rot, do I need to replace it? OEM or other suggestions?
I've really only worked on my RX1 motor, except cleaning the carbs and changing plugs. So I don't understand the reeds and what they do. Should they be replaced or cleaned or nothing?
The right handle grip has slipped twice, repaired with new rivet, now slipping again, suggestions? Also the temp control knob turns back by itself, very easy to turn, typical?

Mine backs off as well but still functions like it should.

My foam was rotten too. I looked for cheap options but ended up getting OEM, not cheap. You can check reeds for cracks or pieces missing, but if all looks good it should be fine. Check reed cages for hairline cracks or breaks. The older ones were known for this and can cause major problems if a piece gets sucked into the engine.

The foam on mine rotted out as well and I pulled it out in three big chunks. I also went OEM, I think it was around $19 for a new piece of foam
