I have a 95 Vmax ST and I set my secondary to 60* with the red spring. It has a late up shift and revs high till it finally shifts, especially at partial throttle. What setting should I try?
80 would be the stock setting for the st, all things being equal. at 60, you should be upshifting almost too quickly and loading the engine harder. check both clutches to be clean and make sure the wear parts are in good condition. almost sounds like you have a sticking problem in one of the clutches.

You con firmed my thoughts as well. Clutches are clean and are looking in good shape, sled only has 1,400 miles. I am new to tuning the clutches so maybe I am putting it together wrong some how???
I set spring in holes 3 and 3 that makes 60* right? I did have a very tuff time twisting the spring and aligning the helix to the stud, to put the first nut on.

your correct on the 60, number wise, you may be over twisting. you should be rotating the helix counter clockwise just until the ramps on the helix clear the ramps on the sheave, then push down onto the bolts while pulling up on the sheave.

I will rest it, making sure to rotate the helix counter clockwise. I may have went the wrong direction.
In my shop manuals it lists the stock twist angle for a 95' 600 ST at 60* which means you have it set correct. Also for the twisting you should be twisting the helix CLOCKWISE while you pull the sliding sheave COUNTER CLOCKWISE, this is what gives you the extra strength from the spring.
If you twist the helix counter clockwise it will actually unravel the spring and actually make it weaker.

Id say if you twisted it correctly, that your clutch bushings are probably worn or out or round and it is sticking. Try compressing the clutch by hand does it feel like it moves smoothly?

Have not had a chance to rest it yet, but yes it moves smoothly, is clean and in good shape.
