do i have to replace the seals in the chain case when i change the track or are they reuseable , just looking what part to buy before i replace the track.

If you have a TSS chassis venture then you should have the quick change driveshaft.My fathers 1996 ET410II did not require the chain case to be opened(the driveshaft inside the tunnel goes into a cup with an o-ring on the end of the driveshaft).You won,t lose any oil when you remove the shaft.Just remove the skid,speedo bearing and the shaft should pop right out.
thanks i'll look in the tunnel i have the older venture like the 1995 with the struts and hood mounted wind shield , with reversed lever on the left

Dude you have got to be ****in kidding me. I just finished tearing the whole chaincase apart and now can't pull the journal off, so I'm stuck. Are you telling me all I had to do was loosen the speedo side off, drop the skid and pull?

You do not have to replace the seal, most often they are not. But consider the age of the sled and the seal is not expensive - make your choice. You might need a chain case cover gasket if it tears.
You do have to remove the drive axle but do not have to remove the chain case.
