Hi All,
I have a 98 srx 700 triple. When I got the sled it had a Comet Clutch on it. This year the clutch has been sticking and stalling the sled out. I have it off now to clean and rebuild but I am worried that it might be just its time to retire.
So at any rate I would rather put a stock primary clutch on. While looking around it seems that the 98 srx clutch is different than other years.
Does anyone know what other years or machines clutches will fit? The 98 primary clutch seems a little hard to find.
Thanks

Any primary of an srx or viper will work. The only thing different is the tuning parts (weights, springs, and rollers) used in the primary clutch. I actually think Yamaha still uses the same primary today, you could probably take a primary off a new Apex and it would work in an srx.

Back in the day, we only used a comet as a cheap replacement for a stock.
Not sure if this holds true today, but I would guess you might be better off getting a oem clutch and setting it up for your srx if another 98 clutch isnt available to you.
