I need new carbides for the 01 SRX so I went to royal distributing and purchased a pair. When I compare the old to the new the anchor bolts don’t seem to line up...
The old ones are 4.5 inches between studs and the new one have one set at 3 inches and the other at 4.5 inches. These new ones aren’t going to fit, am I missing something?

I dont know the measurements of the top of my head but I would pretty sure your skis have ben changed. If the look right to sled they are probably of a viper, sxr or older srx. I take old carbide with me when going to store or measure studs and double check specs when ordering on line.

Interesting, I did buy the sled used a few years ago... Guess the skis were changed at some point. Well off to the returns line I go!

Dont forget to take the old one with you. Then once you figure what fits (model wise) just have to store it in the memory bank.

Just post a pic of your skis and we can tell you which ones they are. It would be good for you to know which ski you actually have.

Well of course the sled isn't here with me but I was able to dig a few pics up... I'm not sure if it will be enough to positively identify the skis though.
Let me know if anyone has any thoughts regarding the ski genealogy

I dont know what they are...I can tell you they are not stock for SRX or SX, loops are wrong and saddles are similar but different. You may have to get them for the that particular ski or modify them.

note that there is no triangles cut in the mount. they are indeed the ats ones from royal distributing.

Ski bottoms and handles look the same between ATS and Kimpex, maybe one of 'em copied the other, or more likely they are both exactly the same and made by the same company, just with different brands and names.
The "no triangle" ski mount shown on the catalog page for the Kimpex Standard ski may not be for a Yamaha mount, there are 9 different part numbers shown for mounts for the various snowmobile models.
Also note that the 2 Kimpex skiis (Standard and Arrow) can use the same mounts between them, and the mount shown on the Kimpex Arrow ski is the same style as on the ATS Pro Flex ski on the Royal catalog page.
I'd wager that the skiis are identical, and carbides for one Kimpex model will fit the corresponding ATS model, and vice versa.

Just to update, I went back to royal and they gave me a pair of ATS carbides. They looked pretty crappy utilizing a simple bead weld of hardened steel (or some type of metal) along the very front and back of the carbides. In the middle they had welded 4, 1" pieces of tapered or sharpened carbide that you would normally see at the front back and middle.
I'm not very happy with their quality, but they fit perfectly, so that's what I'm rocking now...
