I have seen on here members putting fox floats from cats on vipers. I know there is some modifications needed to do so. I was just wondering if these would work off an apex. Got a chance to get a set from a guy i know if i replace the floats with spring shocks for his apex. I dont know why but he hates the floats on his sled. Just wondering if its worth getting them if they will work on my sled.
Thanks

Mike from Carver Performance has done some. In fact I saw a Viper in the UP of Michigan last year that had the floats on. Turns out they were done at Carver.

Here is a link on how i put floats on my sled. weight loss is a plus on this tank. the bracket was a bit tricky to weld as it is cast but i put a pretty good beating on it this winter and it is still hold up. the brackets are off an sx/srx i believe and weld on the extra material. floats off an apex will work. my floats are off a phazer i believe, anything 17'' or less will work. The plastic spacers need to also be trimmed to fit the bracket on the trailing arms. Good luck

They will work but be careful, that sx style bracket can bust the front cast section on one side of the viper. I have used this on my personal sled years ago. also, do not leave the rubber mounts in, you need to use the aluminum slugs in their place.
apex ones will be better, ones from cat usually measure 18in, or atleast the ones guys have been talking to me about. the apex ones are just under 16.5

Is it still necesary to modify the sx brackets even with the apex ones?

and snoprokid how much of a difference do you think they made to your sled? im putting a monoshock in and raising the front by either moving the bottom mount brackets up or putting on floats if its worth the 400 bucks

I never ended up going with the fox floats on my viper this year. I think im going to put a twisted dual spring kit on my kYPs. Got big plans for my viper this summer.

In turns of handling i believe they work the same as stock, Ride height, i have just as much ride height as my stock shocks with stiffer springs. Bump capability, bottoming out is no longer an issue, floats have a wicked anti bottoming system that i use to the fullest.

How much higher does it ride over a stock setup?

The issue with the longer ones is that your fall out travel will make your tie rods hit the frame.
The guys that have been using the 18in ones bought widening kits from me to make up for the extra height, makes the shock set outward and gives even more travel. The infinate adjustability of the air shock really helps with getting ride height correct though by your posts, you more looking for the jacked up looks kool ride height.
