I have a Viper that is not going to see any time on the snow this year. Been playing with the newer equipment. I fogged it well at the end of last season. How long would you guys trust the fogging? Until next season? That seems a bit long to me. I wasn't sure if I should fire it up and run it around a bit and fog it again until next year, Or just let it be until next season? I hate the thought of parts sitting dormant that long and rusty cranks etc unless the fogging would really last that long.
Any thoughts?

i run mine all summer, fire em up once a month, seems to do the trick. top them off with gas, keeps the moisture out, throw some star tron in it seems to work well!!

all depends on where its stored at, if its dry and well ventilated you should have no problem. It wouldnt last as long in a enclosed trailer that sits in the sun and closed up with no venting, the condensation builds just from the outside temps jumping and falling.
You could always take out the plugs and pour a little bit of 2 stroke down the holes, place a rag over the cyl. head, pull the rip cord a few times. reinstall the plugs and it should be good for a long time if you already fogged it. Biggest thing will be if it has fuel in the carbs, this ethanol crap turns to sludge and jelly pretty fast. drain the tank too.

Per the yamaha manual this is the worst thing you can do.
Seems like it would be fine for another summer. I do the fogging oil while burning fuel with a heavy ATF mix. You could pull the carbs/reeds and give the crank a re-fresher hosing down.
just my opinion and what i do devil!! seriously no issues, mines stored outside under a tarp,i have moth balls in a sock under the hood keeps the mice out and i put a brass scrub pad in my exhaust.keeps rodents out of there.fire it up once every couple weeks, keeps everything lubed, first snow you cant ride on i clean the carbs and pv ,no issues~smoke
do it with my non yammis too`
star tron keeps the ethanol in check and stabalizes the gas.

Thanks for the info guys and Mr. Viper as always. I run the sleds with with Avgas to get it in the system, since it doesn't have ethanol or go bad quickly, and store them this way. Always works well but I also always clean carbs before the seasons. They are stored in a good environment so maybe I will go that route. I thought just maybe pulling over the motor occasionally while stored might move things a bit and help from sitting in a spot too long.
