To be able to help you out, more info is needed. What RPM do you spin this engine at? What does it make for power? Is it at improved stock weight? Valin is around but spends more time on the 4 stroke side since buying his Nytro. What is it you wanted to know about your dads sled. I can ask Valin or possibly help myself as I know the sled very well.

Going to turn it to 9800rpm and it 185hp+ hp. For my dads sled I just wonder what springs he used in the clutching what rpm does those pipes make power at. And have he ever tried high rpm pipes on it?

The gearing Tony gave you should be very close. 23/38 is geared for 127.39 mph at 1 to 1 with 9 tooth drivers and 9800 rpm's.
I do not believe Ryan ever ran high rpm pipes on that sled! I have seen the porting and don't think the engine would response really well to the higher rpm's.
Not sure on the springs but I do know the engine makes power around 8600. I have the Dyno sheets for it here somewhere. I'll try posting one of the runs.

Thanks for the info. Do you think it is worth putting 10 tooth driver in and gearing down? Just trying to make it roll easier

I run 10 tooths in all my race sleds.

Any advantage or even the clearance to run 11 tooth drivers?

We tried To run 11's with a speed track and studs but could not get the clearances we needed. You may be able to do it with a tar track. You will have to modify the skid to compensate for the added diameter though.

Do they interfere with the front torque arm and/or the rails? Of course on asphalt, we won't have the studs clearance issue.

what gearing should i be to run 10 tooth drivers or how do i figure that out

Rpm x top gear / bottom gear x track pitch (2.52) x 9 for (9 tooth drivers) / 12 / 5280 x 60 = speed at 1 to 1 ( no overdrive)

Awesome thanks what would be the pitch on a 10 tooth driver?

Pitch is the same at 2.52
