About a year and a half ago I saw an ad on craigslist for a 92 Exciter and I was going to go pick it up on the weekend, but I told my buddy about it and he went and snagged it from under me later that day. At first I was kind of pissed at him, then that subsided when I thought about what his wife was gonna say when she noticed yet another project in the shop. lol It was mine about a month after that and I didnt have to drive 90mi to get it!! So it worked out.
Im am very curious about the origins of this sled because its heavily modded and my buddy has since lost his bill of sale, so heres what it is.
Its a 1992 red Ex570 with an Arctic Cat Wild Cat 700 in it. It came from the Chicago area and the guy said his college auto shop instructor built it.
Along with the 700 it has very nicely made custom pipes, wide kit with the fiberglass panels, hydralic brakes (wilwood master, kelsey hays caliper), Vmax 4 aluminum skiis, EGT's,I think a vmax4 rear skid with Olins shocks and an arctic cat secondary that was machined to work on a yami jackshaft.
I had a water leak and when i tore down the motor I found the crank was lightend. Possibly Hooper?? Stock cylinders tho.
Im guessing this sled had dyno time by the "Midwest Dyno" stickers that were under the hood. wouldnt surprise me.
So now the sled is getting a full resto because the last owner left it out side and needs some TLC. Its kind of funny because the ad said "Garage Kept". Yet when my buddy picked it up there was weeds three feet tall around it!! LOL Im sure Im not the only one who has expiriened that!!
Im going to see if my buddy still has the pics from when he picked it up and post them, because now its in pieces waiting for warmer weather.
Its just kind of a neat sled and thought I would see If anyone would know more about it.

you should ask over on the cat side of hcs, not many yamaha guys would have defaced a sled with a cat engine, but a cat guy would have built it with no moral issues.

I'd love to see pics of this thing.

LMAO BETHEVIPER!!!!!!! Too funny. Unfortunately it is the sad truth that there is a cat motor in one of my exciters. Its pretty damn cool tho. I will get pics as soon as my buddy sends them.
Actually I have seen a couple of these combos before. One most notably was at the drag races/speed runs on lake Namakagon two or three years ago. That particular sled was an 88 or 89 and ran 121 mph and was a 650, or at least had 650 heads.
At this time I dont discriminate as to what I am riding because my 91 Arctic Cat EXT 530 is the only sled running in my stable right now.

The primary is from a Vmax 600 I think. It had a yellow spring and 8CA weights with what appear to be brass rivets?? I talked with the builder yesterday and he said he had a different primary on it. The secondary is an Arctic Cat clutch that had a splined insert to fit the stock Yami jackshaft. It is a button secondary, not a roller. When I talked with the builder, it really answered some questions as to why things were, the way they are on the sled. He said at one time, there was an aero charger on it pushing over 200hp!!!
