I have 2-'02 vipers, both seem to be using more oil than usual. Adjusted the cable and that helped the one but the other still really goes through oil, granted its bettter than using none but a whole tank full in less than 100 miles seems a bit excessive.. Also am assuming this could be part the reason its has a bit of a hesitation on the throttle off the idle.. Any ideas or info would be appreciated!

check the couplin where u ajusted the oil pump and make sure it slid back into the housing

whats the measurement of the gap on the oil cable when you pull it out of the sleeve?

its less than 20.5mm (which i believe is recomended?)

so you have it set richer already then, so make it 22mm and see, it should be fine then. If your using good oil like amsoil or any newer fully synthetic you can make the gap 23-23.5mm with zero issues then they just barely sip the oil.

Have you noticed any change since you adjusted it? They are designed to go full bore when they are on their way out. You could adjust it all the way lean and shouldnt change consumption if pump has went into default full bore mode.

Ok, thanks I appreciate it. Will give it a try, as I'm running yamalube. Thanks again

get some digital calipers set it to 22mm and make the cable exact....

22mm is about as far as I would go with yamalube.

yes it made a difference after i adjusted it.. And mr. viper i will grab a digital tomorrow and give it a whirl. the one i have now is not digital.. Thanks again

If I remember correctly, I had mine set to @23.5 to get the proper ratio. That was w/ Mystic full syn that I believe had a flow point somewhere @ -46 degrees.
