During the past warm weekend I was bored in the garage watching all the melt so I turned my attention to the SRX. I had good track deflection as it would slowly creep once the engine was warm.
While inspecting the track I noticed a few of the little nipples along the lugs had been worn down. Looking a little closer I could see they were rubbing on the protectors at the front heat exchanger. Well, having a few wobble pops in me I grabbed a razor blade and cut them off flush where they were touching, no hesitations.
The problem is now when the sled idles that track spins pretty fast. Is it okay like that? Sled idols around 1400-1600 rpm.

Is the clutches aligned? Where does the belt sit on the Secondary?

X2 on check over your clutches. They are engaging belt too much at idle.

track off the ground or on the ground? off the ground and spinning isnt a bad thing, on the ground and the sled creeping forward you need some adjustments.

my 600 track spins like hell also on the stand, and clutch's are aligned and everything is normal..at least you will have no friction slowing you down..

Shouldn't be spinning that much. I can turn my track by hand, forward or backward, with ease with the motor not running and belt off and on. That is key. If your track spins like hell at idle while on a stand, that is not right. How does your spider shaft and inner belt look like. Any glazing?

everything looks fine. This has always been the nature of the SXR beast. The SRX just moves a little and can be helped along by hand easily.

center to center and off set is set, have the tool for that.Got the secondary so belt top edge is just a tad above sheaves and no squeal at idle.Belt is still in good shape and within the specs required.Clutch components have been replaced last fall..ie) bushings, springs, weight etc.No belt mark lower in primary sheaves,no cracks, etc.Belt is correct one also. Not to worried about track spin,at least track and and components are not binding. All new bearings, skid bushings,no broken parts, over sized wheels, nothing seized anywhere,

I'm not sure about spinning like hell, but if the track doesn't spin or creep with correct clutch alignment and track tension I start looking for bad bearings.
yes it's ok considering you have not played with engine alignement or anything like that. You want the track to spin as freely as possible. Also if your belt deflection is a little tight it will do that but it is still a sign that your suspension is good and that there are no restrictions. I had the same problem and cut some of my lugs also to prevent the rubbing.
