working on my new to me 03 Viper and what a crappy exhaust.
the Y pipe was cracked at both joints. Had it welded and reinstalled.
Started the sled the the flange where to pipe connects to muffler is cracked.
The weld that holds the flange was cracked about an inch and a half around the flange. Is this normal for Vipers to have this issue.

My manifold cracked aswell. I just welded it and painted it. I actually just installed it earlier today.
If u paint it with high temp paint its a good idea to bake the manifold after u paint it otherwise the paint won't last...
Don't know about the flange tho

I have cracked the y-pipe but, as for the flange i have had to replace my exhaust donut there twice. Is the donut worn? If it is the y pipe will hit inside the expansion pipe and rub. This may cause further damage around the joint.

Just put a new donut at the Y pipe end. The donut at the muffle end was in perfect shape. The Y pipe will never crack again. Zig Zag weld. Hopfully the muffle will be ready tomorrow. tons on snow now.

Don't tell me about the snow was stuck at the pool all weekend looking at the snow and dreaming.

Viper exhaust

If anyone is interested I believe I still have my stock Viper exhaust with zero miles on it and the y pipe at my dads shop in a tote somewhere. Let me know if interested and I will have him go dig for it!!!
