I am running Heavy hitters with max perf purple primary spring, the secondary is a 51/43 with a yami green wrapped at 70. I took it for an initial test ride last night in our field, the conditions were really loose with a fresh 6" of fluff. My engagement is at 4000 and if i pin it and it spins in the loose snow it revs to about 8200 then climbs to 8500. When I got out on some hard pack it seemed really boggy in the mid range. Should I try to fix this by pulling weight out of the heal or mid section of the heavy hitters or should I wrap the secondary tighter? I have read most guys don't run any weight in the heal and i do have some in there now. I also have a silver secondary spring I could try. So basically my question is should I try to fix the bog in the primary or secondary? Thanks!

should always tune with the primary firstly.then tweak slightly in 2ndary.Example how tuning the secondary doesn't solve problems. With my stock setup with a 47 helix red at 80..was over reving to about 8700 -8800.So I went and set wrap to 70 with red spring..also tried green at 70.My rpm's dropped a whopping 500 rpm's..way to much.So went back to the clutch weight and worked the rivets until I am basically spot on within 50 rpm..
Now on a warm day, snow sugar like, rpm's will climb due to better grip with track. Now you may want to switch wrap on the helix to help.Or use a less steep helix.Conditions and temps do make a lot of difference.Got to find that point where it is close both ways..colder or warmer.I have an extra 2ndary clutch, set up already to change for a warmer day.Using a 51/43 helix on near 0 temps drops my rpm to normal again.

better try to tune on hard pack ....soft loose snow always give bad clutch tune

I run 48.5[bare]Heavy Hitters on my 2002 SRX and I only run weight in the tips. I adjust the engagement with spring rate.[Yamaha springs]

Thanks guys, I will mess with the primary and stay on the hard pack when I tune.
