My 03 stock viper with electric start has lost its gas mileage and started to bog at around 60 to 80 kmph but went away, then my caution light came on around 10 minutes later and stayed on until i shut it off a minute later. I went to start it today and it was having a hard time to start and stay running then i noticed it was not firing on all 3 cylinders so i put 3 new plugs in but it didn't make any difference. Only the clutch side cylinder is firing.

Thanks for reading!

check compression if its good you may be chasing electrical issue. I would not try starting it again until you test compression

Just notices you are from Sudbury. I live in Val Caron. Let me know what you find

I just checked the compression and i got 110 on pto, 130 on center and 130 on mag. The engine was fully rebuilt last year and have only put on less than 2000 kms.

Sounds good to me. The viper have staggered compression.
Mine is at 120 pto and 140 on the other two...
comp gauge readings vary on the gauge you have
So
I wouldn't worry about the compression

When your caution light is on, there is usually another icon on the display that shows up to help guide you to the issue. I don't know all the icons off the top of my head, but an example is the caution light on combined with the fuel icon is low on gasoline in the tank. I imagine temperature is another one.

Did the caution light flash, or did a numeric code show up on the display? Again I don't recall on the Vipers but they do have some diagnostic help in the display, either by number code or you count the flashes and length of pauses in between to come up with a code. I'm sure there is a code list on this site if you do a search, it may be in the TY Tech section.

if you dont have a compression guage, simply pull on the rope very slowly and guage if each cylinder has roughly the same amount of pull.
Do it slowly and you can tell if 1 is weaker then the others.

did you pull out the sparkplugs and look at them? are they all the same color or is 1 silver?

ok,lets look at what we have here then...

1.) so we have good compression in all 3 cylinders(good)

2.) spark plugs all the same color-black(rich, likely from trying to get it to run with excessive choke)

3.) warning light on( likely low fuel light if under a 1/4 tank)

4.) only running on 1 cylinder(likely dirty pilot jets)

so that leads me to tell you to pull the carb rack and clean the carbs then for the first step, you likely/might have dirty pilot jets. If you dont know how to do it, theres a couple write ups with pics here on this site, its actually not that hard if you take your time. You need to remove the jets from the carbs, not just spray the bottoms of the carbs with cleaner.

fixing a sled on the internet is a process of elimination since no one can see or hear how it acts, you basicly have to use as much information as you can possibly type in order for someone to diagnose a problem and suggest a solution for repairing the problem. Pull the carbs and we can go from there.

So my air box had ice and snow inside it, when i cleaned my carbs my pilots had ice in them so i thawed everything out and cleaned them although they were pretty clean. I took it for a ride last night and it ran great in -30 below. Now i just have to run a tank of gas through and see if i have my gas mileage back. Thanks for all the help guys i will let you know how it goes!
