I know the topic of "what oil is best to keep my powervalves clean" has been beat to death, but I havent found much info about the use of Yamaha Ring Free fuel additive in snowmobiles. I am familiar with it in marine applications, it definately cuts down on the carbon build up in outboards. Does anyone use it in their sleds?
It seems like it would go a long way to preventing power valve sticking and increasing the interval between cleaning - especially when paired with a high quality oil. What are your thoughts?

Per the suggestion of the dealer I ran it in my Viper for years. I put a shot in at every fill up and run Yamalube. The first time I had a loss of power was at about 7500 miles, I cleaned and adjusted the valves and it runs great again. I stopped using it around 5000 miles because I got tired of it leaking all over the trunk of my sled. I guess I can't say for sure if the ring free was what helped or not, I personally think that riding style has the most affect on it. I ride in the UP a lot which is a lot of WOT for extended periods of time. Also, I am pretty sure I read in the service manual that Yamaha suggests using it to keep them clean.

I use chevron techron. The Yamaha ring free formula is almost identical to techron, as ring free is made by Chevron for Yamaha. Techron is also cheaper and easier to find.

Do you find that it keeps your power valves cleaner? do you still clean them every season?

used ring free and yamalube since day 1 in my viper. took middle PV out at about 5000 miles to check the cleanliness and yamaha mechanic said it was a waste of time pulling the PV out to clean. it was that clean. never cleaned a PV in 7000 miles. obviously i realized good results, your experience may vary.

Last time I checked them was over a year & a half ago. I pulled them because I hadn't done it since I had bought the sled. They were pretty clean then. I adjusted them and havn't touched them since. They still move freely.

Are you using the chevron techron concentrate?
How much do you use, and how often.
On the website all I found was chevron techron concentrate and it says to use it every 5000km in ur car. Is this what u are using?

They have injector cleaner & fuel system cleaner. I use the fuel system cleaner. I put some in at least every other tank.
