What would be a fair price to pay for a complete Ohlins race shock package for a viper? Found an ad locally for complete set front and rear for $1,400. Is this a good deal. I think the guy is pretty firm on the price.

the fronts sell used for 4-500, the rears if you find them, even rarer, 25-300 for the rear, center around 1-200
but, what is he selling exactly. are they just the accessory shocks or are they the actual race versions with larger bodies, extra adjustments, extra length. There were some ohlins for snow cross that you needed to do some modifications to your rear arm to use. 1400 seems high unless they are brand new and even then, you can do alot with the stock shocks if you have that kind of money to spend on them.

They are actual yamaha race shocks according to the ad. Cost about $4,800 new, again according to the ad. I have a pro x skid that i'm getting ready to install. Just wondering if the ohlins would be better and worth the money or if the pro x would be the better choice to go with.
