I was under the impression that most yamaha primary clutches are the same like 1997 and up yxr are the same? My dad needs a new clutch for his rx1 and I bought a 2004 sx venom clutch from a member here and it's being shipped so I don't have it yet. But I was reading up on it and apparently the spider is different?
Is this true? Will I be able to switch everything over ad use this 2 stroke cluth on a four stroke? If not, can I just use the sheaves frame the Venom clutch and use the rx1 spider? I want to do this properly.
Any one know for sure if it will work?

It should be fine. As far as i remember they are all the same except for the weights and spring. Your rx-1 should have the same clutch for sure. Not sure about the newer 4 strokes? Someone will confirm this im sure.

Short towers were on the newer I think Chris? Don't quote me on it but my buddy's 04 rx1 le was the same as my viper s...

You see the holes in the spider? This holes doesent exist in 2stroke clutches

you can swap pieces between them but if your using stock weights, you will need the 4 stroke spider. the weights are flat and will swing through the holes in the spider. If you swap parts to your spider, you should have the clutch ballanced again. or what you could do is just buy a set of heal clickers or other aftermarket weight. by the time you pay to switch the parts40-60 bucks and have the clutch ballanced, another 50, you could have a set of used weights.

I do have aftermarket weights aswell as stock weights.
They are super tips.
But if i put it back to stock weights and use the rx1 spider with the venom sheaves it will be just like an rx1 clutch again?
Where would i get the cluth ballenced? is it necessary?
Or woul it be better to use the super tip weights
Thanks so much for the quick responses
