well i am making a huge switch from an 86 phazer to a 01 srx 600 tripple it has 6800 miles on it and the guy says the carbs are gummed up ( not a prob for me) ive been looking all around and i cant find any specs on it or reviews any ideas is this a good sled and will it keep up with my buddys 600 H.O. mxz (2005) :sled1:

yeah my mistake it is a 2001 sxr 600 im just hoping its a good sled do you think i need to be concerned about miles ( 6800) or should it be good to go? and do you know what size battery its needs for the eletric start?

That's a good motor and winds out nicely. They have the same bottom end as the ultra reliable redhead 700 and can keep up with one till about 70. If the bottom end is solid you will have a good reliable sled. I actually like the sound of the 600 better than my 700, they kind of sing once they get going.

you will want to do spacers and or reed notch or vforce reeds to get that back boost port unblocked. also drill a hole up your muffler. Nice sound and doesn't loose power
It's a decent motor but no power house for sure.

well im picking it up sat hes asking 900 for it and just told me that the lines are frozen so im guessing thats water in the lines ( bad fuel) not sure if i should go throught with the purchase do you think this is a big problem or easy fix

Personally,
I would shy away from it. Carbs gummed up, lines frozen. What else is wrong with it? It's always a crap shoot but you could probably find another one that is atleast running. 900 bucks is 900 bucks...it's your money.
