Has anyone ever tried to run a tap through a fly weight to thread it where the rivets go?I re weighted mine last night and wondered if this was possible because it would be a lot easier if you could use small bolts like with Heel clickers to tune the mass on the weight.
I know they are hardened and all I was just curious if it's at all possible.

Do a search its been done but is hard going but can be done.

I did mine on a vice with canadion tire drill bits and a hand held drill.Dont know if a drillpress would have been better as it was hard but i won in the end.HC t nuts installed now.

What did you drill the holes out to? I would think a metric size might be easier so that only very little would have to be drilled out?
Here you go read mrviper's post
you use a 1/4"x28 tap

I cant remember size but yes it is only the next size up or so.I think i went the same size and run it thru on a angle tried to oblong the hole and went to the next size up drill.
I did not tap i drilled the hole larger to let the heelclicker t nut fit inside the hole.
