Just a quick story to share. Went up to Pittsburg NH this past Wed, Thurs and Fri. With 5 other guys. Put an a little over 300 miles and had a blast! the ol' Viper ran like a champ! Was really cold at -20F on average during the day. Got up to 109mph on the lake which I though was pretty good considering there were alot of drifts slowing me down and I didn't hold it open for very long on account of the frigid temps. I know she had plenty more in her. The other guys all had ski doo's and one Cat fan 570. They were calling me the "Lake Racer" and couldn't believe how I just blew by them like they were sitting still. Plus they were all drooling how that triple sounded. Didn't see any SRX's, saw 4 or 5 other Viper's and a bunch of 4 strokes. No mechanical break downs and nobody got hurt or arrested...ha! Was damn proud to be riding a Yamaha
;)!

Sounded like fun! When ever I see a older Yamaha I either give a thum up or a fist pump when I have my hand up to mark the last sled :)

Also had great riding up on the east coast of Canada last night. We where running the river and my stock srx was working awesome, was with an 03 800 xc. 07 renegade 1000 and a new rev 600 and I really impressed the boys they couldn't touch the srx I was very happy with the performance of the triple against a 1000 rotax can't wipe the smile off of my face this morning happy and safe riding

Nice! I was really hoping the two guys on the ski-doos would want to race but no such luck. It was great keeping up with them wherever they went. Not bad for a sled 10 years older than theirs. Not to say I wasn't a little sore but nothing some cold beer didn't take care of.
;)!

Rode with a apex and a nytro the other night through the woods. that old sx showed them she's still got it. Didnt see them except for waiting for them at intersections.

great stuff! Thats 3 hours north of my sleds current home but man I may have to get up there....snow is sooo light right now and time is burning!

Will run the 01 SRX and finally get the "new" 02 Viper on some 2013 snow! this gets me motivated !

Nice photossssss looks like snow is well packed up there.

Yeah, it was about 3 hrs. for me to get up there. The trails were unbelievable! well packed and like highways. 3-4 feet deep once you stepped off trail. When I do it again (hopefully soon) I'll be going up on a weekday again, too much sled traffic on the weekends for me. Almost got clipped a couple times Friday on corners from guys riding too fast. Where is your sled?

Sorry for late reply. I was up on the Kancamangus (Bear Notch Road) this weekend - not bad at all due to the higher elevations. That was only 40 min from our camp so worked out pretty well.

I have 3 - 01 SRX -stock, 02 Viper - clutched - and ZR600 Cat. My GF and her son in that order. We are in Ossipee, NH! Hoping for some snow this week!
