I have a 2002 SX Viper 700 triple and it seems to use a lot of oil. In 250 miles I've used almost an entire gallon. I also have noticed a lot of oil in the belly pan right under where the pipes mount. This is the first yamaha I've owned and don't have a users manual. Could the oil be turned up? If so, how do I turn it down? Any other ideas and help would be very appreciated!

Lots of threads about oil adjustment. If your seeing it laying in the belly pan you may be leaking as much as your burning. Are you running a bar riser? O.E.M cable? Suugest cleaing up the belly pan and see if you cant find a leak.

With risers its probably pulling the cables tight. There is a lot of info or should be in the tech section. Here is some info: http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?p=380180
When using this much oil, it usually drips out around the exhaust pipe joints.
