If my oil pump was suspect and I decided to go pre mix instead , what mixture? What oil? Can you test an oil pump?

Don't do it. There are oil lines that run directly from the pump to the crank bearings. If you go to premix, those won't get lubed. If your pump fails, it usually fails wide open. Using about a tank of oil to a tank of gas. When it's working correctly, it should use about a quart of oil to a tank of gas. Make sure the oil cable is routed in a way that it doesn't stretch out when turning. Check the gap in the cable. The cable has a spot where it pulls apart, peel the rubber cover back and pull the cable open at that spot and measure the gap, it should be around 22mm + or - 1mm.
