How far should the belt come up on the primary I have about a eighth of an inch from the top at full speed.
thats as good as it gets with stock untouched sheaves in the front clutch..........

This is maybe a dumb question; how do you check it? Put it on a stand and run it? I was always told not to run it wide open with no load.
Mark the surface with a marker
Then go run it
The marker will get rubbed off

that sounds like a much better way to do it, thanks! Does any old jiffy marker work okay?

that is fine using the jiffy marker
A "blue" marker works the best.
