Hello, I have a question regarding my '99 SRX. I am getting conflicting information regarding tracks - will a 1-1/4" lug track rub with the stock 9 tooth drivers (no studs)? I want to keep the protectors on the front cooler.

It will rub on the tunnel protectors if you have them.

Olfa knife works well. The track just needs to be trimmed along the windows where the protectors run.

If you don't want studs take the protectors out and don't cut the track.

I just used a razor blade knife...
If you are going to change the drivers. I would suggest installing a 1" lug track and then stud it. Really, I run everywhere my Son does with his 1 1/4 track. The larger lug slows you down and will also magnify the hyfax wear. This winter we replace the 9 tooth drivers with 8 tooth on the Viper. This is a great mod, simply buy New drivers and press them onto the drive shaft. Time consuming but worth it. Al

yeah, i was planning on replacing the track with a new 1" one but found a deal I couldnt refuse on the 1-1/4" track.
What is the biggest track you can clear with 8 tooth drivers?
How much top end did you loose going from 9 tooth drivers down to 8 tooth drivers?
