The housing that takes a 90 into the axle has a short piece of speedo cable that connects the speedo gear at the housing to the axle. I got the cable out of the axle but the piece in the housing got shoved in to far to extract.
Looking at the housing from the bearing side there is a piece that rotates and slides in and out about 1/8 inch. It's 3/4 inch long and is a replaceable part, but I'll be damned if I can see how the housing comes apart. I'd like to get the cable out of the housing. Even though it works at this moment, I'm sure that piece is going to cause a problem in there at some point.
I want the speedo, but I dont want to panic when it stops working. I just did the dang bearings.
Thanks.
