These are the ones he ground off the tip because they were to long? What kind are they? A pic would help. Seems as though he should still be able to just take them out.

well, im at home and hes at his place so I cant get a pic for ya. sorry. not too sure what kind they are. hes actually removing all the studs because a couple have hit his heat exchanger so hes worried more damage. hes using a grinder, I'm pretty sure they are SS.

usually you put a torx bit into the stud head to hold it and use impact on the nut to remove. But if the hole are plugged, you have to use a pic to clean out all the crap..If nts are rusted and head get stripped,,then grinder is the only slow way..good luck.

Yes the SS picks are a real pain to remove ! You have to use a brazing tip on a torch with a nice sharp flame that will warm up the thread lock on the nuts.

Heavy duty bolt cutters work.....cut the nut on an angle

I took some of mine out with a 12v impact with a 3/8 socket adapter and a hex socket. Wrench on the nut and have at it.
It's a pain laying on your side to do it, but it worked. As mentioned, you have to clean out the holes to get the hex in.
I gave up and cut the studs down with an angle grinder for this year. New track next year. Mine were aluminum and easy to cut.
