Oil light comes on at idle.

On my SRX700 the red oil light comes on at idle. As soon as I give it throttle it goes out until the next time I stop. Any idea what could be causing this? The sled is definitely using oil.
 

replace the oil sending unit in the bottle, the 2000 srx had a bad batch of them.

Not as long as you keep oil in the tank. Should come on when you get down to around a quart left. Thats the "low oil" indicator. Even if for what ever reason sled wasnt using oil that light wouldnt come on. Kind of like the fuel light on newer cars
