Took the srx out for a little ride to see if my speedometer works after replacing the key and freeing up the drive,still nothing?
ok, take off the drive from the tunnel again, remove the cable housing nut from the drive, very gently place your rechargeable drill onto the speedo cable end and start spinning it, does it work?
add: i would do the same with the drive unit also, maybe the gear is stripped out o in the drive, or the speedo is broke from the drive seizing up .
let us know the outcome you should be able to isolate the problem this way.

What direction does the speesometer cable turn.
Clockwise. The same direction as the front axle when you are driving forwards.
