So I'm thinking of jumping ship, from Doo to yamaha. I see a ton of what I think are good deals on Nytros, which I think would be the most comparable to the renegade 1200 (4 stroke) I just totalled. I just don't know much about them. I think the XTX would be for me, this is the 144" track right? I just don't know what kind of issues, if any, these machines have, as far as engine reliabilty, clutch issues, overheating, weak points in the chassis, anythinjg you guys could tell me I would appreciate. Thanks all!

Nytro = 3 cylinder 4 stroke. 130hp I think they are.

Engine reliability...4 stroke technology brought over from their bikes, I know the Apex the first motor adjustment comes with doing a valve adjustment at 12,000 miles.

Clutch issues...this isn't an Arctic Cat, put a belt on and run it for a few thousand miles, change the belt and do it again

Overheating...again four-stroke, not sure on the Nytro but the Apex has a built in radiator with fan

Weak points in the chassis...the early Nytro, I think before the XTX was even out, I think it was 08 had subframe issues in the front, I'm sure most have been taken care of by now.

Buy it, ride it, welcome to the club!!

From what I've heard, the only thing I'd be concerned about is ice/snow buildup in the tunnel. Maybe that's been taken care of, I know they changed their tunnel design a few years ago. Take Jaws' advice, check out the 4 stroke side and search under Nytro.

Encountered relay issue in one over the weekend. Below 0. It would not start. Took a heat gun to the relay and it started. Found the solution on TY!
Only issue I have heard of. Spare relay going forward just in case.
The new XTX has the new skis. Heard the older ones were more likely to dart on trail.

Only bad things I have heard. All the bad things you asked about must come from you SKI DOO background ;)

Over all - that new black XTX is bad azz. I don't think you will be disappointed.

the nytro is bullet proof 2010 they knocked 20 ibs off the sled with the new rear skid and changed the approch angle on the track to help keep it up on the snow.
