I currently have my rear skid (121") out to change out the shocks and install new bushings here and there. I forgot how stinking heavy these things are. I had it in our machine shop at work so I decided to throw it on our industrial ceritfied scale. It came in at 72 lbs. What a tank. It is maybe a pound heavier than stock being I had the W arm gusset plates welded on.
Has anyone actually weighed a 121" Yamaha mono skid? I know it can't be this heavy.

I have always thought that it could not have been that expensive to make the whole thing out of aluminum even if it needed to be somewhat thicker. The bikes have aluminum or lighter materials all over. "77" SRXs did.

That is what I was guessing. One time someone posted somewhere that it weight around 39-40lbs. I think that might be stretching it. I was thinking maybe 50lbs. would be more likely.
