Hi guys,

Thought my sled was fixed..

While idling the sound will change like if it's running under water or something with the occasional minor backfire..

Please see my video :( you can hear it change sounds almost like if you put your hand on the tail pipe.... http://videobam.com/LeMxD

help!

Mine was doing the same thing today. I had a batch of bad gas cleaned carbs three times. Searched this site thought maybe TORS. Replaced the plugs and that was it. Fouled plugs. Worth a try.

i put a different set of plugs and same result.. All i did yesterday was put 20$ of super (had gas left) and a full can of octane boost..

I'd appreciate it if you guys could help me troubleshoot, I haven't even owned this sled 2months and it's been a headache :(

What do the plugs look like after doing this for awile? Sounds like a cylinder is missing. Go thru carbs and clean pilots real well. Plug caps might need replacing as well.

Sounds as if ur losing connection at the # 1 check ur plug wires and the wiring might be loose erosion ect! Good place to start ! Backfiring would be water most likely use some dry gas mine ran fine after using it just be careful a quarter of that bottle is plenty if ur tank is full ride a few hours check ur plugs and replace if needed! I went threw some plugs at the start of the year! Use dry gas a few times alcohol I forget the brand I bough red bottle from a cycle shop

Here's what I do start it if its idles low around 1100 or 12 a plug fouls upon start up let it warm they way it is shut it off in My case it's the far left side sitting on the machine that always fouls out on start change it fore it up good to go back to 1800 even my local repairman said they always seems to foul at cold start ! Hope it helps ya

Anything past what ppl listed I would bring it to a shop and get tap in ur savings lol could be a stator ! Maybe a condenser ! Not possible check ur cylinders maybe one is losing its compression compression test cost nothing

update. Cleaned the carbs and still having issues on idle, It sounds like a gurgling popping sound.. All my electrical works fine, so i think!

Just a thought.. I had a coil go on me one time. It would work great at times but other times it was weak. I fluked on it one night by it doing this and I started pulling wires and changing plugs then it hit me check spark.. It had a weak spark.. Changed the coil and have not had that problem since.. It is possible you have a bad fuel filter as well.. Hope this helps..

Drain your tank or use some alcohol dry gas it will prob clear up

We're the symptoms similar to what i'm describing?

symtoms we're similar.. Low idle, kinda weird noise while idling..but mine was intermitante becuase coil would work properly then barely work but was just enough spark to fool me when checked. If you can get ahold of a coil to switch out each one and try that may tell if one is bad or more..

I am having a similar issue. My idle does not sound as bad as yours but at WOT it sounds like it is missing and rpms drop down to about 8,000. PTO plug is wet and black. Just bought a new coil for $60 and cap for $12. Will try that and see if it makes any difference. Failing that, will check under motor for wire rub thru and then stator, if I have to.

Could also be low compression in the cylinder, which I have not checked yet.
