I cant go out and buy a new machine so pretty much my viper is what I have to run. run it. run it I do.. and now I need to feed it something to wake it up but retain all reliability and its stock low noise muffer. how to? .. reliablity!! and keep it quiet are key needs. Anyone have some practical targets ?

the sled looks mint, run mint, handles mint and turned 5000 miles, 2003, all stock, opt. 4th rear cooler, 96 studs, 1" cone track, very well maintained .. any ideas?? 105 is ringing its neck so far.

remember i dont want this thing to burn down 100 miles in the deep. nor do i want the wardens siting me for loud exhaust

pump up motor?
1.25 unstudded ripsaw?
clutch?

and how many have bruised their right leg on the pull cord handle while riding hard.. bahahah

91 octane non ethanol that will wake your machine up low cost effective

Drop one tooth on your top gear, 50/44 helix with a green yami spring wrapped at 70. Leave your primary alone.

If you don't understand any of what I just said, leave it stock.

Sex pipes, 01cdi, redone the heads or Srx/aftermarket, and throw that track away.

Sex pipes? Are those so ya can knock out a quickie on the side of the trail??haha

I'm running the 53/43 helix, green secondary spring wrapped at 70 with 4.5 gram weights in the tips. Runs great with more snap than stock. Peg the throttle, shoots right to about 8500 and slowly climbs from there. Leave your stock can on.

Have you gone through your engine and clutches? I have seen a lot of guys think the sled is running great only to find out it is actually down on power. PV's, rings, reeds, clutch springs and bushings, etc. do deteriorate over time. Make sure all is really in great shape and then follow good advice above.

Also check your drive train for any drag.

Do you trail ride it..I would like to do something to the wife's if I don't sell it

The track change to the 1.25" ripsaw will be a big improvement, the other is a clutch kit and you should be pretty happy with it and still have good gas mpg and no reliability problems or noise to deal with.

buy 40-10 heel clicker kit with a 48/34 or 48/36 dalton helix, will run like stink then!

Trail riding only. Alot of guys on here have done this mod to their sleds. Some like it, some don't. If you want to spend more money, go with the heelclicker setup that Mr. Viper was mentioning. I may even do that down the road, but for now my setup keeps a smile on my face. You can get the helix, green spring and rivets from Pioneer Performance( vendor on this site) and many others.
