center only has 40lbs of compression. Just put a new piston and ring in the center but I think I was very throttle heavy for a new piston.
I guess there is a break in period...
whats the best way to seat the rings and break in a piston and ring.

not mutch break in ...better check your carb or gaz for detonation ...or it will happend again

it is fresh gas...carbs were cleaned using air and needles are at 3.25 with opticool gasket and rear cooler.
is it stock engine ??how look the 2 other piston

engine is stock. The others cylinder looked great when i installed piston but did not tear it apart yet since center burned down. It just burnt tonight
I do understand ...if other cylinder doesn't look lean better check for lean problem
what mains, 156.3? something is wrong if you took it out on that with that headgasket and the needles raised you should be more then safe. Unless you jetted it down? There really is no break in for a piston, rings usually 1 to 2 heat cycles is all it takes.

You are right about another issue. I think I found it. When i changed piston and installed rear heat exchanger i guess I did not bleed the system properly as there is no more coolant in the reservoir. I am tearing it apart now but figure it over heated with lack of coolant.

does your warning light not kick on when you are over heating..it should of warned you I would think..Maybe check to see also if there has been coolant leaking into the cylinder.

the warning light did not come on. The piston and cylinder are scrap. I had a real hard time removing cylinder as it was so scored to the piston. I cant take the piston pin out it seemed to of overheated so bad. Tried for 1hr and still cant get pin out to remove piston.

boy you did a number on that one.Better check for the future if your warning lamp is not burnt out also.Sorry this happened to your motor, must of been hot.Did the head discolor from the heat..can you tell.

hey blue heads look fine. Its my own fault for rushing to get on the trails and lack of coolant burnt it down...at least thats my guess.

I wander how much coolant is gone..if coolant is gone..where did it go??
I lost mine too. You have any pics of the piston, head and cylinder???
