Hey everyone, new to the forum and love it. I acquired a 79 exciter last year, it had been sitting for years. Got it completely cleaned up and runs great with the exception of a bad low end bog. Once you get past the bog it runs great. Thought it was a carb issue but after extensive cleaning, fuel pump, and reeds the problem is still there. Jetting is up to spec as well. It's almost as if someone hits the kill switch off the line then with a few burps of the throttle it will clear up. Float height is also correct. Could I be looking at a electrical problem?

I went through this with an older 81 sled I had. Replace the crank seals!!

Thanks. I thought of that too and was hoping I wouldn't have to dig that deep into it. If it is my seals, why would it run fine at higher rpm?
