welcome to the site. sign up on the four stroke side http://www.ty4stroke.com/ this is the 2-stroke site. there are some guys here that can help you but you will probably get quicker responses over there.
Take the side covers off the rear of the exhaust. Then remove the seat. Next remove the gas tank. After that you will want to take the cover off the top of the exhaust donuts underneath the steering column. Unbolt the muffler from the tunnel. Loosen all 4 exhaust clamps and you can usually wiggle the muffler back far enough to get the donuts replaced. I usually take the flexpipe parts off the motor to make sure all material from the donuts is cleaned out. There is a gasket between the 4 of those and the motor that I usually replace as well. Any questions just ask.

There is an excellent write-up with pictures on the 4-stroke site. Be sure to use forged allen socket heads to avoid striping out the screws. Make sure they are inserted all the way before turning. I like to tap them with a hammer. If you just use plain allen wrenches, you will likely have trouble. Check your headers to make sure they aren't cracked. Also consider the copper donuts (vendors on this site). I have a lot of miles with the copper ones on.
