Is my clutch ok where it is? Off takoff I hit around 8450rpms and level out at a little over 8600 rpms. Sled is a stock 2001 srx 700. Only upgrade is 176 studs. Any slight change I can make? I'd like to enter it in the 1000ft radar runs. Not serious, just looking for a respectable mph.
Jetting for proper elevation ! 8600 should be ok heard people running 9k long as ur start engagement is 4200 I wouldn't thing 8600 is much over rev stock is 8500 maxed out

Netting is spot on. I've heard that these things stock run closer to 8600 than 8500. I know 8500 is the sweet spot. Perhaps a different angle Helix?

8600 is close enough in my book. Where are you going to run?

Ok, If you were running Sabattus they had to shorten the track to 660ft because of slush in the shutdown and wanted to let you know it wasn't 1000ft.

drop secondary wrap 10 degrees and see what happens, should drop rpms a little as long as oyu can hold on to the belt and itll shift out faster

My buddies bone stock (as far as we know) 700 pulls 8700-8800 rpm and my brothers viper can't pull away from it. I would consider your range ideal.

As bada$$ said soften the secondary as much as you can without slipping or sucking the belt. Shoot for a shift out of around 8350 climbing to 8500. the 2001 likes a bit of load during acceleration. just that should gain you a couple mph.
