I have a 2003 Yamaha vmax 600. I love the machine and it works very well. I am in need of a 2 up and I was wondering if you can buy a 2 up seat that will fit this machine. I know that you can buy a seat jack but I was hoping to find a stock Yamaha 2 up seat. Is there a seat available that will install directly onto this chassis?

Yes, but you will have to find a used one and that's not easy. Try posting in Vmax 4.com. A Vmax 4 seat will be have little different design but will fit.

just look for a sx chassie venture seat 97-2004
i had one on my mountan viper for a few yrs so my daughter could ride with me
they bolt on factory holes and you can alwas change back. if you get the adjustable back rest the heated grips for the passenger all plug into the factory harness and its a simple 20 min job
heres a pic of my viper with the two up seat

Ive used Seat Jack 2 up seats before, and a buddy of mine currently has one on his 99' SX 700, they are sturdy, easy to install and remove (a slide on either side riveted in then slide the seat on and put the pins in) You can pull it on and pull it off in less than a minute once the slides are installed. Ive even tried sitting on it myself and Im 190pounds without my equipment on and we were doing lakes runs and the thing didnt even creek.

They are pricey but very convenient for guys who are not always riding two up, they carry them at Royal Dist.

I am looking to purchase a 2003 Vmax 600 - do you use yours for trail riding and what are your thoughts on suspension and gas?
