Hey guy's, i have a 2000 vmax 700 red head with over 11,000 klms it has average 119 compression, have pulled 10,000 rpm's at -30 degrees and 9,000 rpm's at -20 degrees. Is this baby ready to blow or just a great red head.

most likely poor clutching. yes, its a great engine, your just pushing it beyond where it should be by over revving perhaps causing it to blow.

LOL! I would say it needs some serious clutch maintenance/tuning!

got to admit with all them km's on it and over reving like that..that red head is bullet proof..but seriously get the rpms down to 8500 wot.Check the tech section here and it will give you yours stock set up.Usually you will have to add weight to arms to get rid of over rev from the factory setup. You are losing HP once you are getting over 8500 rpms.
Sounds just like my issue at the end of last yr.
Primary clutch spring sagged. Is that a word?
