Looking for some help setting up a 700sx for Ice. Its got a 14" wide speed track, bender tripples and v force. Looking for some pointers for 660' ice runs. Gearing, clutching ect. Thanks in advance :)

I know when we used to set up for ice drags, dropping the front end as low as you can get it was one trick we used.
Tons of studs 192 minimum, set your rear skid to its softest setting and adjustable transfer rods are going to make a big difference on a yami, adding some more mass to the weights in your primary should also give you a harder launch (higher rpm) and more aggressive shift as long as the engine can handle it.

It takes a lot of playing around to get clutching just right, and almost no two sleds will react the same. But with a short 660' run you would definitely want a very high rpm launch.

168 sharp pixxs work fine. 21/40 gears and 8ca 4.5 tip with 15.6 rollers hauck org or www spring 52/42 helix green at 80 works well

oosxrjoe uses a great set up, but, i found my sled runs faster ETs with 14.5 rollers,it puts more side pressure on belt, but, like he said, every sled is different, test, test, test!

8900 9000 rpm What do u have for clutching parts to work with? In stock form and wiper track mine would run a consistent 7.2 at 90-92 mph in 660 with a 220lbs rider with cpr pipes

Well, ran it today in horrible conditions. Soft wet slushy ice....LOL Only got 76 out of it. pretty poor imo. Left cylinder didn't seen to heat up. Changed plus a few time but definitely not firing right. RPM's are at approximately 84-8500ish. No clue what the helix is I have. It is stamped CR on the back side. Ran a silver seconday at 90 degrees twist. unmarked primary spring with 8CH weights(I think). Engagement is down at 4000 RPM's. Looks like I got some work to do!!!!

Ur gonna need a tall clutch cover also. Heel clickers will not work with short cover. 8ch weights are junk. Lucky u ran as fast as u did.

I have a couple of clutches. Both short and tall. I was wondering if the tall clutch cover would be needed. Thanks

I just ordered the Q4 carb nozzle for the PTO side carb. Maybe this has something to do with that cylinder not heating up like the other two????
