Hey all! I have been lurking here a while now and have learned a fair bit.
I bought a 93 Exciter ll 570 that was obviously ridden hard and put away frozen.
I have replaced all the skid bearings and both rear shocks. Now I have found another problem and no idea how to approach it.I believe its the secondary sheave that holds the bearing and the jackshaft,it is cracked pretty bad and there is a lot of play in the shaft.I am guessing the bearings and seals are all fubar as well.
I know I have to open up and remove the chain case which I don't see as a problem but I have never had the other end of the jack shaft off.
What is the best or easiest method of removing this? I have been told its a real p.i.t.a.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the airbox and carbs and the secondary clutch you will have a better look at it all.The brake caliper will have to be undone as well.

.

When you remove the scondary as a whole unit there should be no worries about anything being spring loaded, unless you disassemble it.

I am now looking for a parts sled. There are no exciters to be had but I am sure some other 570 yamahas must have the same engine and jackshaft.
Does anyone know what sleds that may be? Like what year Vmax would be the same.
