these wheels were listed by my supplier for the viper. they are the same ones used on the back
(3) and the uppers (2) ..
problem is :
some say they explode at 50 miles
and the circlip used for the oem wheels to hold bearing in (back wheels) do not fit the kimpex wheel.. the circlip is not large enough.
additionaly, the 6205 bearing for the uppers are the correct shaft diameter, but the outer race do no match the kimpex wheels.
these are the kimpex KX411698
please shed light on the replacment speedo bearing for the viper. ThE All balls racing kit does not provide the correct speedo bearing to fit correctly snug in the bearing cover like the oem collared bearing does

are those 7.5" wheels??The ones I have out in the rears look like that and are 7.5" wheels.I have run them for years on both sleds.I only had 2 wheels go bad on me.On the outside of the axle ,wheels was brand new and I ran maybe a couple of miles at high speed and I hear all of a sudden a weird noise.Stopped to look and lost 1/2 of the wheel. So went hope slowly and then replaced it.Because it was the LHS outer..that was an easy job.And another time lost the rubber on one of the inside ones, which was a lot of work to replace. But now everything is holding up well for over 3 years now.I always have an extra one sitting here as a spare. The bearing for it is different then the one you mentioned.I use the 6204 2Rs bearing for the Kimpex. The rear shaft fit thru as normal. The clips work fine as well. The upper large on stock yami wheels is 6205 of course.

no these are the same diameter as the stock rear idle wheels (2003 yamaha viper er) .. the diameter is 7.0" ..
the 6204 will fit the 3 kimpex wheels (provided i need larger circlips from napa) out back, but they did not fit the upper shaft. the inner diameter on that bearing for the rear shaft was not large enough for the shaft on the 2 upper wheels. The 6205 would fit the upper shaft, but the kimpex wheel will not receive that upper 6205 bearing as the kimpex wheel race is is not large enough for the 6205 bearings outside race diameter (wich is larger than the rear lower 6204 bearing's outter race diameter)
sound confusing? lol
also what is up with All Balls Racing providing a 35$ bearing kit for the viper's drive shaft if their speedo bearing's outside race will not snugly fit the bearing cover like the OEM does. problem is now the new chaincase bearing and seals are installed from that kit and I cannot return this 35$ kit ! .. why in the heck is the outter race of the all balls speedo bearing concave and not square like the OEM? and why would they provide a darn bearing if it doesnt even fit right??
SOMEONE has been thru this before with the ALL BAlls Kit not fitting correctly.

I installed the alls balls bearings kit a few months ago.
Worked perfect, perfect fit. Now I got 3000km on ad they are holding up great so far.. So I don't know.. Did they by any chance sen you the wrong ones?

the ABR kit appears to be right but for some reason the speedo has a near dome-shaped outter race.

I see that in the pic now.
I don't think mine was like that... Where did you order it from? I ordered mine from royal distributing
The bearing with the dome outer race is the jackshaft bearing. It fits in the collar that bolts to the frame directly behind the secondary

i got mine from automatic dristributors/ jr graham powersports warehouse.
I have not gotton into the upper shaft bearing on the clutch side yet, assuming it is similar to the speedo bearing if not the same. I have two kits and one does have the correct speedo bearing .. this may be an unfortunate case in the wrong bearings were packaged under the wrong labeled kit! ..
Also THE KIMPEX KX411698 aluminum rear idle wheels WITH 6204 2RS BEARINGS WILL NOT fit FOR FOR THE VIPER .. as it turns out, the OEM bearings are not as thick as the aftermarket 6204. I installed the new wheels with their respective new 6204 bearings and the it spreads the skid out by about 1/8 too wide, thus not keeping the 9.25" wide skid width along its length.
shortening any of the collars would pose a problem with where the wheell will then ride in the track.. getting way to close to the track lugs out board of the hyfax.
So another reason i will not use an aftermarket wheel such as these.
what a pain in the butt.
exploding wheels,
mis-packaged drive and jack bearings, (or so I am begining to think)
wrong thickness in aftermarket bearings..
with care and in the need to get the machine back together for the weekend I have decided to get oem replacement upper idle wheels, and repack the rear oem 6004 bearings being careful not to damage the seals..
now if the extention kit would arrive i could get to putting the skid back, shave the front tunnel protectors and run it! im winded

that would explain my thought the speedo bearing is in the kit labeledfor the upper and the secondary bearing is found in the kit for the speedo. and to ad a twist, the orings are only found in the lower axle kit,....
anyways... I might have it dicked. hopefully.. the title of this thread should be "confuse me more'
