I was taking apart my 97 vmax 700 (No reverse) and I take pictures to see how stuff goes together but it turns out my memory card was full. My question is... What is the orientation of the lower gear.spacer,and washer?
Spacer, gear, washer, tab of Lottie, bolt

The correct way...LOL! One way the gear/chain will stick out to far, the other they line up. Maybe a typo and he meant "dab of loc-tite" Blue would be my choice, Have heard nail polish (whether its yours or wife/girlfreinds.....To each their own!) will work as well.

that bottom gear should have a smooth side and the other side should have a flange like spacer, put the smooth side out, also not a bad idea to loctite the nut on the top sprocket i just did this to mine because i heard of a few coming loose i used red 271 and torqued it to 50 ft lbs.
