Here is an interesting one, went out with some budds doing hill climbing and lake playing 2 feet of snow some drift jumping etc. Half way through the ride the srx starts one pull idles so nice all skidoo guys are green with envey, start off slowly get to 5200 some times 5700 and #1 cylinders cut out, slow down and at 5200 all cylinders start working perfectly. I have new plug caps on, all other electric is original. So to cap this starts one pull normal, run all day at 5200 plugs perfect, push the love flipper and only mag side works, back off the flipper and all 3 run great.
Leaning towards coils??
any ideas??

you need to elaborate on how you know its not running on #1 and #2 ??
what year is this srx??
Is the tors switch currently hooked up or bypassed?

Stator - sounds just like my problem. My stator tested fine too.

Sorry, out of town for few days, heres how I know, idle sled or putt around and all 3 pipes equally hot try go over 5200 to 5500 for awhile, and then shut down # 3(mag side) pipe real hot 1&2 only 1/2 as hot, so 3 is doing all the work,
1998 SRX, compression all good, tried to move plug wires around when I got back in the garage and could not duplicate, no load on the track.

good, your already thinkin ahead....thats why i asked what i asked, as if it were the 98-99 just swap the plug wires arounf and see if the same cylinders didnt work or vice versa, would lead you in the right direction if its electrical problem or what have you.
take it out and ride it with plug wires swapped around see if the problem moves, not the same when on a track stand, no load on engine really.
let me know, also check the status of the tors switch wires at carb rack

X2 on the stator. (assuming its not a rub through. Had the exact problem 2 years ago. Stator tested fine but pulled it out anyway and found a burnt high speed coil. Bought a used one from a fellow TYer and everything was good
